Welcome to Cafe Apamate
"Apamate" is named for the extraordinary blooming tree of Venezuela that stands out in a sea of green. We aim to stand out in our own way and we do that in part by naming our traditionally Spanish restaurant after something Venezuelan. It reflects who our Chef is and pays homage to the country she hails from while preparing the food that she loves.
Chef Ormaechea is not the first in her family to bring Spanish traditions to another country; her Grandfather did the same in Venezuela. And now we set our roots here in America much the same way it has been done since the beginning, with a legacy of family recipes and a cuisine that is blossoming into something as amazing as the Apamate tree itself.
With a dash of creativity and solid roots in tradition, we welcome you to remember your trip to the coast of Donosti and if you don't have that memory let us introduce you.
